Usha Chandra is a warm and friendly Nurse Practitioner & Diabetes Educator with over 20 years experience.

She currently works as a Diabetes Educator through the Metro South region and is passionate about assisting patients and empowering them to manage their diabetes and other chronic health conditions.

Usha has worked in clinical, research & education roles throughout Australia and the United Kingdom. She has a nursing background in various areas including Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Cardiothoracics, Midwifery & Neonatal ICU. She also has prescribing rights for various medications and enjoys working alongside & supporting GPs & Endocrinologists with their patients.

Usha can assist patients to commence and maintain insulin pumps and continuous blood glucose monitoring devices. Patients do not need a referral to see Usha however she welcomes referrals from doctors throughout the community.

As Usha is a Nurse Practitioner & Diabetes Educator, patients are able to receive Medicare rebates.

Usha sees patients of all ages with type I & type II diabetes mellitus & also gestational diabetes. 60 minutes is strongly recommended for all initial appointments with Usha.

During this time she can provide diabetes education, commencement of insulin pumps, continuous blood glucose monitoring devices or any other diabetes assistance. $15.00 discount for pensioner concession card holders & healthcare card holders.

If patients have extreme financial difficulty, they can discuss their situation with our practice managers who will discuss your situation with Usha and ask for consideration of a further discount.
